SentinelOne Restores Services After Global Outage

NEWS BRIEF

SentinelOne said it has restored services to its endpoint detection and response (EDR) consoles across the world, which experienced a brief but widespread outage on May 29. In a message to customers, the cybersecurity vendor said that that initial indications do not point to a security incident.

“Customer endpoints are still protected at this time, but managed response services will not have visibility,” a message sent to SentinelOne customers explained. “Threat data reporting is delayed, not lost. Our initial RCA [root cause analysis] suggests this is not a security incident. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work to resolve the issue.”

The company said in its initial statement to customers that it was aware of the outrage and working on the issue. Just hours after that communication, SentinelOne reported all of its services had been restored from the disruption.

“UPDATE 2: Access to consoles has been restored for all customers following today’s platform outage and service interruption,” the company said. “We continue to validate that all services are fully operational.”

According to StatusGator’s third-party monitoring service, the outages affected 10 services across the SentinelOne Singularity platform, leaving dashboards inaccessible for its Endpoint, XDR, Cloud Security, Identity, Data Lake, Marketplace, RemoteOps, Threat Intelligence, Vulnerability Management, and Network Discovery services.

The SentinelOne website remained online and accessible throughout the disruptions, according to monitoring data. The company said in 2024 that it had more than 11,000 customers worldwide using its Singularity Platform.
