Compromised AI agents pose a threat on a different level. Unlike human hackers, these agents already have access to sensitive systems, permissions, and workflows. Once hijacked, they allow attackers to obtain a comprehensive map of the environment and legitimate reasons to move freely across systems. This reality has already been demonstrated in recent cyber incidents, where malicious actors used AI vulnerabilities to access private messages, files, and communications. Traditional security tools struggle because the AI operates within normal activity patterns, making suspicious behavior hard to detect. To counteract this threat, organizations need tools that offer full visibility into AI agents’ presence, permissions, and activities. Such tools can identify risky AI connections, assess potential damage, and enforce restrictions. Recognizing and securing AI agents now becomes critical in closing the gaps left by conventional security practices and ensuring the resilience of digital environments.
