These ads promote generators for emails, PDFs, calendar invites, and webpages embedded with prompts.

The impact of IDPI is significant because it can bypass traditional security checks by hiding malicious instructions within seemingly normal content. If successful, attackers can upload malicious prompts that manipulate AI behavior without alerting users. This could lead to stolen data, unauthorized exfiltration, or the approval of malicious content.

Organizations should understand that threat actors are actively developing and testing these techniques. As a result, security teams need to stay alert for unusual content in emails, documents, or online ads. If organizations suspect they have been targeted or wish to implement defenses, they should consult the relevant vendors or security authorities for specific mitigation tools and strategies. Currently, no standard remediation guidance is provided in this report; therefore, obtaining advice from cybersecurity vendors and experts is strongly recommended.
