Akamai Announces New Members Elected to its Board of Directors

Akamai Technologies, a leader in cloud and cybersecurity solutions, has appointed Janaki Akella and Bas Burger to its Board of Directors.

Janaki Akella has extensive experience in technology and strategy. At Google, she managed digital transformation efforts within the Cloud division. Earlier in her career, she held senior roles at McKinsey & Company and HP, gaining deep expertise across diverse industries. She also serves on the boards of Southern Company, Sallie Mae Corporation, and Fractal Analytics.

Akella has been recognised as a Distinguished Alumna by the College of Engineering, Guindy, and named among the Top 100 AAPI Board Members Making a Difference.

Bas Burger leads BT International, where he helps multinational companies stay connected and secure around the world. He also focuses on developing secure, AI-ready cloud platforms to meet the networking needs of global businesses. Burger contributes to the World Economic Forum and is a member of the Committee for Economic Development.
