CompassMSP LLC (“Compass”), a leader in the IT and cybersecurity managed services industry, is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Rapp as Chief Executive Officer. Rapp brings over 20 years of leadership experience in building high-growth platforms and winning cultures across the technology services sector—from startups to publicly traded, multi-billion-dollar companies. Rapp succeeds Ari Santiago, who is stepping back from the role while remaining a significant investor and continuing with the company as a Strategic Advisor, working with the Board and Rapp.

After completing its recapitalization with Agellus Capital in December 2024, Compass combined with BlackPoint IT Services and completed two subsequent acquisitions, more than doubling in scale under Santiago’s leadership. Prior to the recapitalization, Compass grew through eleven acquisitions, becoming a leading managed services provider on the East Coast. New CEO Rapp will lead Compass’ scaling during its next phase of growth, with a focus on investments in sales and marketing, leading technology and automation capabilities, and enhancing its cybersecurity presence.

Most recently, Rapp served as CEO of Praecipio Consulting, a leading business process and technology consulting firm specializing in the Atlassian product suite. Additionally, he has spent the past several months serving as an independent board member for both Compass and Heartland Business Systems, thereby deepening his insight into the companies’ operations and strategic potential.

“I’m genuinely excited to step into this role. Compass has something special—a strong culture, a talented team, and a real reputation in the market. My focus will be building on that foundation: making Compass the go-to place to work and the go-to partner for IT and cybersecurity. That means investing in our people, our tech, and smart growth that makes a difference,” said Rapp.

Rapp’s appointment marks a pivotal moment for Compass as the company continues to expand its presence and capabilities in managed IT and cybersecurity services.

“After a successful tenure with Compass, I am excited for what Michael brings to this next stage. I look forward to supporting Compass’ growth in my new role on the board going forward,” added Ari Santiago.

“We thank Ari for his transformative leadership of Compass and his continued partnership,” mentioned Beau Thomas, Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Agellus. “Michael brings the experience and vision that will continue building Compass’ leadership position in the IT and cybersecurity market.”
