Visa Inc., a global frontrunner in digital payments, is expanding its cybersecurity services to help clients better defend against the increasing complexity of cyber threats. As part of this effort, Visa has unveiled the Visa Cybersecurity Advisory Practice, a new global initiative designed to deliver in-depth risk analysis and actionable strategies for combating emerging security threats.

This launch marks a significant enhancement of Visa’s value-added services and risk management capabilities, offering businesses—from small retailers to large enterprises—tailored guidance in building stronger cyber resilience.

In line with this strategic move, Jeremiah Dewey has been named Global Head of Cyber Products. A veteran with over 20 years of experience in security operations, incident response, and consulting across both private industry and government, Dewey will be responsible for shaping Visa’s cybersecurity product suite and driving strategic alliances to meet evolving client demands.

“Proactive detection and rapid response are essential in today’s threat landscape,” said James Mirfin, Visa’s Global Head of Risk and Identity Solutions. “Businesses of all sizes need adaptable, comprehensive cybersecurity tools. Jeremiah’s appointment comes at a pivotal time as we continue delivering innovative solutions that scale with our clients’ needs.”

Over the past five years, Visa has committed $12 billion to advancing its technology and infrastructure, with a substantial portion directed toward cybersecurity innovation. These investments are now translating into practical tools and intelligence for clients worldwide.

Carl Rutstein, Global Head of Advisory Services at Visa, emphasized the shifting view of cybersecurity within businesses:

“Cybersecurity is now seen as a core element of business growth—not just a cost center. Through advanced AI integration and our consulting expertise, we’re helping clients gain a competitive edge while staying secure.”

Visa’s newly established Cybersecurity Advisory Practice is powered by Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA), which includes a global team of consultants, data scientists, and product specialists. The practice offers a suite of services aimed at strengthening cyber defenses:

Payment Cybersecurity Institute: Offers training programs to educate teams on best practices in payments security.

Cybersecurity Maturity Assessments: Helps organizations identify gaps in their security processes and provides actionable recommendations.

Enumeration Defense Services: Supports businesses in detecting and blocking enumeration attacks using expert-driven strategies.

Visa also announced plans to broaden this portfolio with upcoming services such as threat intelligence and vulnerability testing, reinforcing its commitment to equipping clients with a full-spectrum approach to cybersecurity.

By combining deep technical knowledge with decades of payments industry experience, Visa’s new initiatives are set to redefine how organizations approach digital security—empowering them to anticipate risks and respond with confidence.
