Redefines Operational Excellence and Security with C1

C1, the global technology solution provider elevating connected human experiences, announced that Centra Credit Union has achieved significant operational efficiencies and enhanced network security by partnering with C1 to implement advanced SD-WAN technology and migrate to Microsoft Teams Phone as its cloud PBX Platform.

Faced with aging on-premises infrastructure that was no longer cost-effective or aligned with its strategic goals, Centra Credit Union turned to C1 to simplify and update its operations. By adopting SD-WAN and transitioning to a cloud-based communication system with Microsoft Teams Phone as its cloud calling solution, Centra experienced seamless integration, enhanced operational capabilities, and cost savings that exceeded expectations.

“Our aging Cisco phone system and complex MPLS circuits were not sustainable,” said Brent Parks, SVP of Technology at Centra Credit Union. “Moving to SD-WAN and Microsoft Teams simplified our environment dramatically. SD-WAN cut our network costs by 30%, and deploying Microsoft Teams transformed the way we collaborate. The adoption process was straightforward, and the collaboration benefits have been extraordinary—our employees embraced it instantly, and the results have been overwhelmingly positive.”

With C1’s guidance, Centra implemented a modern SD-WAN solution that allowed for intelligent traffic routing and eliminated the need for costly MPLS circuits, instantly boosting network performance and reducing downtime across its 30 locations. Additionally, retiring its legacy phone system and moving to Microsoft Teams streamlined communication and enabled flexible, cloud-based collaboration.

“Centra Credit Union exemplifies forward-thinking leadership in the financial industry. Its strategic decision to transform operations through innovative solutions demonstrates its commitment to delivering enhanced services to its members,” said Elliot Olschwang, C1 Chief Services Officer. “C1 is honored to partner with organizations like Centra to support their growth and security goals with cutting-edge technology.”

Both initiatives have delivered remarkable results for Centra. The SD-WAN modernization reduced network maintenance efforts significantly, enabling the IT team to focus on strategic projects. ROI projections for the Microsoft Teams deployment were achieved within just two years, solidifying the long-term value of these cloud-based solutions.

Additionally, C1’s expertise in cybersecurity has been instrumental in protecting Centra’s critical systems and member data. Parks noted, “We rely on C1 for nearly every security product we use. Their unbiased recommendations and proactive approach ensure that we stay ahead of potential threats.”
