FortiSIEM Remote Command Injection Flaw: Urgent Security Alert

  1. Vulnerability Disclosure: Fortinet addressed a critical-severity vulnerability (CVE-2025-64155) in FortiSIEM on January 13, 2025, related to improper handling of special elements in OS commands within the phMonitor service.

  2. Exploitation Risk: An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability using crafted TCP requests, allowing unauthorized code execution on affected systems.

Understanding CVE-2025-64155

On January 13, 2025, Fortinet issued critical fixes for the FortiSIEM vulnerability known as CVE-2025-64155. This flaw arises from improper handling of commands within the phMonitor service. Unauthenticated attackers can exploit this vulnerability by sending specially crafted TCP requests. As a result, these attackers could execute unauthorized commands on affected systems.
