Keeper Security Unveils Native Jira Security Integration

Quick Takeaways

  1. Keeper Security has launched two native Jira integrations to embed security incident response and privileged access governance directly into Jira workflows, centralizing enforcement within the Keeper platform.
  2. These integrations connect security detection, response, and access approval processes, enabling automatic incident tracking and seamless access requests without manual or insecure methods like email or screenshots.
  3. They support configurable, time-bound access permissions and maintain cryptographic controls within Keeper, ensuring compliance with zero-knowledge security principles.
  4. Built on Atlassian Forge, the integrations enhance security operations by unifying incident management, access governance, and audit trails across cloud, hybrid, and on-premise environments, while integrating with broader enterprise tools like identity providers and SIEMs.

Enhancing Security Workflows with Native Jira Integration

Keeper Security has introduced two new native integrations for Atlassian Jira, a popular project management tool. These integrations aim to unify security incident response and access governance within existing Jira workflows. Since Jira is central to managing security alerts and operational requests, embedding security controls directly into it simplifies processes. Previously, incident response and access enforcement were often disconnected, which caused delays and increased risks. Now, with Keeper’s integration, security detection, response, and access control happen seamlessly. This consolidation reduces manual steps, minimizes errors, and streamlines the overall security management process. By keeping enforcement centralized within Keeper, organizations can maintain strict encryption and audit controls while operating efficiently.

Practical Benefits and Broader Impact on Security Operations

The integration features two Forge-based applications that serve different roles. One handles security incidents by automatically creating Jira issues from Keeper alerts, ensuring all alerts are captured and prioritized. The other manages access requests, allowing team members to request privileges directly within Jira as part of their workflow. This setup supports features like time-bound access, so privileges are granted only for needed periods. Crucially, all cryptographic enforcement remains within Keeper, preserving its zero-knowledge security model. This approach helps organizations eliminate insecure communication methods such as emails or screenshots. It also promotes consistent least-privilege access across diverse environments—cloud, hybrid, or on-premises. Overall, these integrations advance practical security management, making workflows more efficient and trustworthy, while contributing positively to the global human journey by fostering safer digital practices.
