Concentric AI Secures Fifth and Sixth Patents of 2025

Concentric AI has announced the granting of its fifth and sixth patents this year, underscoring its position as a leader in AI-powered data security and governance. These patents protect Concentric AI’s innovative methods for semantically categorizing data records and contextualizing anomalous user behaviors, setting it apart from traditional data security solutions in the market.

The first patent, titled “Method and Electronic Device to Assign Appropriate Semantic Categories to Documents with Arbitrary Granularity,” covers Concentric AI’s proprietary approach that utilizes Large Language Models for semantic categorization. This breakthrough enables precise assignment of categories and subcategories to content at enterprise scale. Leveraging adaptive manifold compression models, the technology enhances compute efficiency and data discovery rates while reducing storage requirements by up to tenfold.

A key advantage of this approach is its flexibility; organizations do not need to predefine the entire taxonomy of categories. Categories can be dynamically added or removed, and vary in granularity—from broad legal agreements to specific tax forms—allowing enterprises to group data meaningfully without upfront configuration.

The second patent, “Methods and Systems for Determining Anomalous User Access to Data Objects,” addresses a major limitation in legacy user behavior analytics (UBA) and user and entity behavior analytics (UEBA) tools, which often generate false positives due to lack of data context. Concentric AI’s patented solution integrates data context with user behavior analysis to accurately identify risky behaviors related to sensitive data, minimizing alert fatigue while enhancing protection against insider threats.

“These patent awards validate our commitment to redefining data security with AI,” said Karthik Krishnan, Founder and CEO of Concentric AI. “Legacy data security tools miss vast amounts of sensitive information and flood security teams with false positives. Our Semantic Intelligence engine delivers the missing context needed to protect enterprise data with precision and autonomy.”

Concentric AI’s Semantic Intelligence platform provides comprehensive visibility into sensitive data across IT environments, automating discovery, classification, and remediation. Unlike conventional tools, it analyzes data records in their entirety, identifying structured and unstructured sensitive information, including intellectual property and critical business documents. The platform continuously monitors for risks caused by incorrect entitlements or sharing, and can autonomously correct permissions or integrate with security solutions to protect at-risk data in real time.

These two new patents build on Concentric AI’s growing intellectual property portfolio, following four earlier patents granted in 2025. They strengthen the company’s ability to help enterprises manage growing data volumes securely while enabling operational efficiency and regulatory compliance at scale.
