DigiCert, a global leader in digital trust solutions, has announced its involvement in a National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) initiative aimed at advancing Secure Software Development, Security, and Operations (DevSecOps) practices.
The company joins 13 other prominent technology organizations—including Google, Microsoft, IBM, Palo Alto Networks, CyberArk, Dell Technologies, and GitLab—to design and showcase integrated solutions that enhance protection across the software supply chain.

With software supply chain attacks on the rise, the initiative seeks to provide organizations with reliable, tested methods to secure their development ecosystems. Backed by the U.S. federal government, the project offers an impartial assessment of how various technologies can be combined to bolster software integrity and operational security—without endorsing any single vendor.
“Many secure development processes rely on disjointed tools that struggle to integrate or scale effectively across the entire software lifecycle,” said Tim Hollebeek, DigiCert’s Vice President of Industry Standards. “Through this project, we can demonstrate how trusted technologies can work together in a unified, risk-based approach to DevSecOps—aligning with NIST guidance and delivering practical solutions to the market.”

This marks the first time these specific technologies have been brought together to form a comprehensive, real-world solution for secure software development, operations, and monitoring. The NCCoE’s focus goes beyond theoretical frameworks, providing hands-on demonstrations of how to achieve both security and compliance using today’s tools and best practices.
NIST has released the SP 1800-44 Draft for public review and feedback. Additionally, a virtual event will be held on August 27, where project collaborators will share insights, provide implementation guidance, and engage with the broader community.
