Accenture to Acquire CyberCX, Boosting APAC Cybersecurity Leadership

Accenture has entered into an agreement to acquire CyberCX, one of the most prominent privately-owned cybersecurity providers serving government and enterprise clients across Australia, New Zealand, and international markets. This marks Accenture’s largest cybersecurity acquisition to date, significantly enhancing its regional security capabilities and reinforcing its market position in Asia Pacific.

The acquisition is set to bolster Accenture’s ability to safeguard critical infrastructure, strengthen business resilience, and drive secure digital transformation amid escalating regulatory complexities and evolving cyber threats.

Founded in Melbourne, Australia, in 2019, CyberCX has grown into one of the largest cybersecurity firms in the Asia Pacific region, employing around 1,400 professionals. The company delivers a full spectrum of cybersecurity services — from consulting and transformation to managed security operations — with deep expertise in offensive security, cyber-physical protection, crisis response, threat intelligence, managed detection and response, identity security, cloud security, network protection, and strategic advisory.

CyberCX operates multiple advanced Security Operations Centers (SOCs) in Australia and New Zealand and maintains offices in London and New York, blending strong local knowledge with a global footprint. Its portfolio also includes AI-powered cybersecurity platforms, a sovereign secure cloud offering, the CyberCX Academy for skills development, and proprietary tools for threat detection, penetration testing, and cyber intelligence.

The deal comes as Accenture releases its State of Cybersecurity Resilience 2025 report, revealing that 97% of Australian organizations are unprepared for securing their AI-driven future, with 80% lacking critical safeguards for AI models, data pipelines, and cloud systems.

“CyberCX and Accenture share a mission to harness the power of cybersecurity to help clients adapt to change, reinvent their businesses, and strengthen resilience against emerging threats,” said Paolo Dal Cin, Global Lead for Accenture Cybersecurity. “By merging our agentic AI expertise with CyberCX’s market leadership, innovative solutions, and trusted relationships, we can help organizations across Asia Pacific turn cybersecurity into a true competitive advantage.”

CyberCX has cultivated strong alliances with leading technology providers such as Microsoft, Palo Alto Networks, and CrowdStrike, and has earned numerous awards for its managed services and systems integration. Its team collectively holds more than 2,600 professional certifications.

“As digital ecosystems expand and threats multiply across operational, supply chain, and enterprise environments, demand for robust cybersecurity solutions is rising rapidly,” said Peter Burns, who heads Accenture’s operations in Australia and New Zealand. “CyberCX’s expertise, trusted government partnerships, and exceptional talent — combined with Accenture’s scale and innovation — will enable us to meet this growing client need.”

John Paitaridis, CEO of CyberCX, commented, “We are proud of building one of the leading cybersecurity businesses in the region. Becoming part of Accenture’s global cybersecurity organization gives our people access to unparalleled capabilities and the opportunity to deliver world-class security solutions to more clients across Asia Pacific. Our shared commitment to helping organizations stay ahead of threats and enhance resilience makes this a powerful combination.”
