Essential Insights

  1. Infoblox’s new service detects and blocks phishing, brand abuse, impersonation, and login credential exposure across websites, social media, and the dark web.
  2. It enables rapid takedown of malicious infrastructure within minutes, preventing threats from being weaponized against enterprises.
  3. Combining DNS-based defense with external threat intelligence enhances detection of large-scale phishing and fraud campaigns leveraging AI.

Threat, Attack Techniques, and Targets

Infoblox has acquired Axur to strengthen its ability to address external digital threats. Axur specializes in finding threats outside the network perimeter. These threats include phishing, brand abuse, impersonation of executives, and exposure of login details. The threat detection involves scanning over 40 million URLs daily with artificial intelligence. This helps identify malicious websites and social media pages that can be used for attacks. The targets are company assets, their customers, and their online reputation. Attackers often use websites, social platforms, and the dark web to launch these threats. The combined technology enables quick detection and response to these digital threats.

Impact, Security Implications, and Remediation Guidance

The new service, Digital Risk Protection Services (DRPS), allows early detection and quick action. When a threat is identified, the system immediately shares information with Threat Defense to block malicious destinations. This prevents attackers from exploiting these sites further. Responding quickly can reduce damage and stop threats from spreading. The integration also helps identify internal assets trying to connect to malicious sites. This reduces the chance of compromised systems. Because this acquisition and service enhance cybersecurity defenses, organizations should consult with their vendors or security authorities to get specific remediation steps. It is essential to follow recommended practices to strengthen defenses and respond effectively to threats.
