This situation underscores the need for a security upgrade that fits today’s dynamic, cloud-enabled landscape.

Zero Trust Architecture Offers a Necessary Solution

To address these vulnerabilities, many in the security field advocate for Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA). Unlike traditional VPNs, Zero Trust verifies both user identity and device health before granting access. This process happens every time, not just at the initial login. As a result, access is limited to specific applications, rather than entire networks. This approach reduces the risk of lateral movement if credentials are compromised. For law firms and other regulated industries, this means sensitive data remains protected, even under attack. Furthermore, managed service providers (MSPs) play a crucial role by deploying and maintaining Zero Trust platforms. Their expertise ensures that security controls are tailored to industry-specific needs. By shifting from a trust-based model to a verified, granular approach, organizations can better defend against increasingly sophisticated threats.
