Top Highlights

  1. Passwordless Login Revolution: Keeper Security introduces biometric passkey logins for its browser extensions and Keeper Commander CLI, eliminating the need for lengthy passwords and multiple authentication factors.

  2. Secure and Convenient: Biometric passkeys utilize FIDO2/WebAuthn protocols, allowing users to log in with fingerprints, face scans, or PINs, enhancing security while keeping biometric data device-local and private.

  3. Cross-Device Compatibility: Available on various platforms (Windows Hello for Windows 11 and Touch ID for Mac), this update ensures a smooth and consistent login experience across devices and browsers.

  4. Enterprise Adoption and Benefits: 80% of companies are adopting passkeys to combat phishing and credential attacks, simplifying user sign-ins while enabling easy passkey management for IT teams through minimal installation efforts.

Keeper Security Enables Passwordless Logins to Exist

Keeper Security takes a bold step towards a safer digital experience. Recently, the company introduced a biometric passkey login feature. This innovation works seamlessly with Chrome and Edge browser extensions, as well as Keeper Commander CLI. Users can now access their Keeper Vault effortlessly using their fingerprint, face scan, or PIN. Importantly, this means no more wrestling with long passwords or juggling multiple authentication methods.

Launched in August 2025, the update protects users’ biometric data by storing it solely on their devices. Moreover, there’s no need for an additional app, making it accessible for everyone—from individual users to large enterprises. As a result, this change simplifies digital security for all.

Why Biometric Passkeys Are a Game-Changer

So, why are biometric passkeys significant? They serve as highly secure digital keys linked directly to users’ devices. Utilizing FIDO2/WebAuthn protocols, this technology enables easy logins akin to unlocking one’s phone or computer. Unlike traditional passwords, passkeys resist phishing attacks and remain secure from remote takeovers.

This innovation comes with practical benefits. First, users no longer need to mentally juggle numerous hard-to-remember passwords. Second, they can log in securely across any browser and device. Third, developers and IT administrators gain robust backup support from Keeper Commander CLI.

According to Keeper’s CTO, the demand for secure access grows as conventional passwords prove insufficient. Biometric passkeys streamline secure access to sensitive information, reducing the risk of compromised credentials. Consequently, this advancement enhances security standards and aligns with the evolving needs of today’s digital landscape.
