DefenseStorm, the leading provider of cyber risk management solutions and co-managed services exclusively for financial institutions, has secured a spot on the prestigious 2025 Inc. 5000 list, ranking among America’s fastest-growing private companies with an impressive three-year revenue growth of 123%. The Inc. 5000 list provides a data-driven snapshot of the most successful companies within the economy’s most dynamic segment – its independent, entrepreneurial businesses.

Fueling this momentum, DefenseStorm appoints two accomplished executives to its leadership team: Gina Hortatsos as Chief Marketing Officer and Wes Muschara as Chief Product Officer. These key hires reinforce the company’s commitment to customer-centric growth and product innovation at a critical point in the market.

New Leadership to Accelerate Growth and Innovation

As Chief Marketing Officer, Gina Hortatsos leads DefenseStorm’s marketing and community strategy, aiming to expand market reach, strengthen brand awareness, and deepen client engagement. With over 25 years of enterprise technology marketing experience, Gina has led teams at HackerOne, LogicGate, FourKites, Hyland, SAP, Oracle, and Hyperion. She is recognized for driving exponential revenue growth and building customer-focused brands. “DefenseStorm has built something rare: a powerful, purpose-built solution that enables banks and credit unions to stay ahead of both cyber threats and regulatory demands,” said Hortatsos. “As CMO, I’m excited to help amplify our story, deepen our engagement with customers, and expand the reach of our integrated Cyber Risk Management platform in a rapidly evolving threat landscape.”

DefenseStorm also welcomes Wes Muschara as Chief Product Officer to further support its mission of innovation. Wes joins the company with an extensive background in product strategy and leadership at top SaaS companies, including ADP, Deloitte, Apex HCM, and Chronus. His expertise in building cross-functional teams aligns with DefenseStorm’s commitment to developing scalable, customer-centric solutions tailored for financial institutions. “What attracted me to DefenseStorm is its clarity of purpose, incredible community, and commitment to solving hard, meaningful problems for the financial services industry,” said Muschara. “Cybersecurity must be embedded, proactive, and intelligent—and DefenseStorm gets that.”

“Earning a place on the 2025 Inc. 5000 list underscores the strength of our growth and the trust financial institutions place in DefenseStorm. As we eclipse the 200-client milestone in the second half of 2025, DefenseStorm’s momentum is growing – as is the pace of change in technology and the banking market. With Gina and Wes joining us now, we are better equipped to leverage these tailwinds to deliver on our promise to our customers,” said DefenseStorm CEO, Steve Soukup.

READINESS2025 Client Conference

The additions to DefenseStorm’s leadership team come at a pivotal time as the company prepares to host READINESS2025, its premier annual client conference from September 16th -18th in New Orleans, LA. The event brings together financial institution leaders, cybersecurity professionals, and industry partners to collaborate on proactive, integrated strategies for managing cyber threats and compliance.

“READINESS2025 is DefenseStorm’s lighthouse event each year. The event will include important updates on continued investments we are making in AI, Workflow Automation, Benchmarking Insights, and Threat Fusion to ensure that we maintain our position as the trusted ally for our customers in the banking segment,” said Soukup.

This highly anticipated, three-day event is a dynamic program focused on building resilience through proactive, integrated cyber risk strategies specifically for the financial services industry. Featured keynote speaker Beverly Y. Henshaw, Cybersecurity Advisor for CISA Region 6, will bring her deep federal cybersecurity expertise to the stage with practical insights on emerging threats and improving cyber resilience in the financial sector in her session, “Banking on Cyber Preparedness to Improve Cyber Resilience.”
