Lido Advisors, a fast-growing national wealth advisory firm with more than $30 billion in RAUM, announced the appointment of Elena Ro as Chief Compliance Officer and Special Counsel.

Lido Advisors is reshaping the modern wealth advisory experience through a holistic, client-focused model that integrates investment management with proactive tax and estate planning. With a growing national presence and an expanding executive team, the firm continues to emphasize transparency, governance, and regulatory excellence.

“Elena is a strategic and thoughtful leader with deep regulatory expertise and rare operational insight,” said Jason Lee, Chief Legal Officer at Lido Advisors. “She successfully ran one of the SEC’s most respected regional programs and brings practical experience running complex operations. Lido was built on integrity and our commitment to clients and Elena’s arrival only reinforces these core values.”

Ro joins the firm following a 22-year tenure at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), where she most recently served as Associate Regional Director of the San Francisco office. In this role, she led the Division of Examinations’ regional program, overseeing compliance programs for registered investment advisers, broker-dealers, and various investment entities. Prior to this, Ro held leadership roles in the SEC’s operations program, where she was promoted to Assistant Director to manage areas including human resources, investigation and litigation technology resources, and legal risk. Before joining the operations team, Ro was a senior attorney in the Division of Enforcement, including as a member of Enforcement’s specialized Market Abuse Unit, which focuses on complex insider trading, market manipulation schemes, market structure, and cyber-related trading schemes and abusive practices.

In addition to her regulatory leadership, Ro has participated in numerous public engagements and conferences, addressing topics such as cybersecurity, fiduciary responsibilities, and investor protection.

“I’m pleased to join Lido Advisors as the firm continues its thoughtful growth,” said Elena Ro. “Lido’s integrated approach to wealth management, grounded in trust, transparency, and forward-thinking leadership, closely aligns with my values. I look forward to contributing to its continued expansion and strong culture of compliance.”

Ro holds a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Yale University. She is a member of the State Bar of California.
