Palo Alto Networks, a global leader in cybersecurity, has launched two advanced security offerings designed to help enterprises prepare for the challenges posed by quantum computing, while also keeping pace with the fast-moving worlds of cloud and artificial intelligence. These new capabilities equip organizations with the visibility, flexibility, and robust defenses needed to accelerate quantum readiness and secure workloads across diverse multicloud environments.

Anand Oswal, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Network Security at Palo Alto Networks, emphasized the urgency of the moment:

“The quantum threat to encryption is no longer hypothetical — it’s inevitable. Now is the time for action. With these innovations, which address the entire quantum readiness lifecycle, we’re leading the way in safeguarding organizations for the quantum era. Every customer using our latest software can advance their journey toward becoming quantum safe, equipped with the intelligence and infrastructure to defend their most valuable assets against tomorrow’s risks, today.”

The company’s approach to quantum security spans the enterprise. Customers using its Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW) and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) solutions now have access to a Quantum Readiness Dashboard — enabling full visibility into their cryptographic risk posture. For systems that do not yet support quantum-safe encryption, Palo Alto Networks introduces the industry’s first cipher translation technology, instantly upgrading applications to meet post-quantum security standards.

Additionally, the company revealed Quantum-Optimized Hardware — 14 new fifth-generation NGFW models — purpose-built to deliver high-performance processing for post-quantum cryptography (PQC), helping organizations future-proof their security investments.

Pete Finalle, Research Manager on IDC’s Security and Trust team, noted that the convergence of quantum readiness requirements, rapid AI adoption, and the growth of multicloud environments has intensified security challenges:

“This complex environment often leads to blind spots and inconsistent policies, making zero trust implementation more difficult. Palo Alto Networks’ focus on ‘crypto agility’ stands out, along with scalable software firewalls that feature deployment automation and native microsegmentation — critical for overcoming visibility and operational hurdles in modern network security.”

Addressing the need for intelligent, adaptive defenses in AI-driven, multi-cloud infrastructures, Palo Alto Networks also introduced its Cloud Network and AI Risk Assessment tool. This continuously monitors every cloud and AI asset for weak or missing protections, identifying areas where security controls should be deployed. The system can automatically provision software and cloud firewalls, as well as Prisma® AIRS™ instances, while configuring a secure multicloud networking mesh.

The platform scales automatically to meet demand, integrates native load balancing, and removes the need for additional point solutions — making it the industry’s first network security platform that can automatically detect, deploy, and scale security measures for rapidly changing multi-cloud and AI environments.

Organizations already leveraging Palo Alto Networks’ innovations are seeing benefits across industries.

Mehdi Lahrech, Senior Manager of Hybrid Cloud Networking at the NBA, shared:

“We deliver secure, high-performance digital experiences — from real-time analytics to fan engagement — built on trust. As our multicloud footprint expands, Palo Alto Networks’ unified platform gives us the ability to scale quickly, safeguard our most critical assets, and stay ahead of emerging threats.”

Scott Moser, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer at Sabre, added:

“In powering the global travel industry with cutting-edge software and technology, we cannot afford disruptions from cyberattacks. With AI-driven threats, complex architectures, and quantum computing on the horizon, we need a partner with vision and execution. Palo Alto Networks continues to demonstrate why they are our trusted choice in cybersecurity.”

With these advancements, Palo Alto Networks reinforces its leadership in preparing enterprises for a post-quantum world, delivering proactive, scalable, and integrated security to protect against the next generation of cyber threats.
